Instagram post 2181359173459351065_8726647682 From Kota to Kathmandu.

These 7 adventurers are riding self-supported all the way to Nepal from Rajasthan.
Star of this 1300 km show is 13-year old Bharat Sonawane from Aurangabad, who is accompanied by his father Shashikant.

Then there is the doctor duo of Girish Chandra Sharma and Anil Meena from Kota. The former the planner and flag bearer of the group.

Unmesh Marwade and Sudhir Kakade are also from Aurangabad and the only roadie in the group, Tushar Bhoite is from Satara.

They started on the 17th of November and hope to reach Kathmandu within 8 days spreading the message of 'peace, brotherhood, unity and a pollution free earth'! The last video is of the team as they pedaled over the holy Ganges.

Wishing all of them luck and  a safe ride ahead... #CyclingMonks #CyclingIndia

Instagram post 2176288165434098384_8726647682 Met these super cool cyclists riding from Gujarat to Assam as they were passing through Kanpur.

They are on a mission to spread awareness about water conservation.
These pictures were clicked in a Kanpur school. The kids were delighted and inspired in equal measure.

The media photographers went crazy clicking pictures, and everyone wanted to be in the frame with the lycra clad two- wheeled warriors!

The 11 intrepid spirits:
Grinshina Kartik
Vidya Chandran
Maneypalli Vinay Babu
Major General (Dr) AVK Mohan
Kannan Ramachandran
Balaji Prasad
Bhaskar Govindarajan
Rakesh Pawan
DR Shekhar Rao

Rajendran Ramamurthy

Two girls, 4 sexagenarians and all hardened cyclists, easily munching up double centuries on a daily basis!

Instagram post 2171943438928684804_8726647682 At 1.35 lakh, the Hero Lectro EHX20 isn't cheap for an E-Bike in the developing Indian market. But it is loads of fun, as we realised while riding alongside the Indian FTR 1200, which was ridden by our motorised two wheeler friends!

Instagram post 2163942790106823490_8726647682 This Diwali, as #CyclingMonks turns 1 year old, we want to share this awe-inspiring story of an incredible cyclist... 6 months ago, Victor Sangale got in touch, he was looking to buy a new cycle and needed advice.

But Victor is no ordinary cyclist, he had fought multiple bouts of cancer and had lost a leg to it. His amputated limb was replaced by a hydraulic joint, but his spirit was stronger than ever.

Two years ago, he got into cycling and got better by the day. Eventually riding a Brevet Populaire in Maharashtra and a week long cycle ride in Arunachal Pradesh.

Our friend, Nachiket , shot and edited this video of Victor, but did not have the heart to publish it.

Victor was lost to the flash floods in Pune on the 24th of September and hasn't been heard from since.

His parents and friends asked Nachiket to publish the video, so that as many people as possible get inspired by this amazing story of Victor.

Do watch and share his story, so that even more people will get inspired by Victor's bravery and victory against all odds.

Instagram post 2161058459000704532_8726647682 In India it isn't everyday that you see a technician becoming an entrepreneur. More often than not, there is a sahab behind the counter, while someone else is behind the bike. . .

It was as such a pleasant surprise to meet Krishna. Hailing from Bihar, he moved to Delhi for his school studies. He ended up spending more time at the neighbourhood cycle repair shop as a kid and learnt the art of cycle repair there. He gradually moved up the ladder as he went from repairing the most basic cycles, to fancier Hero/ Hercules type bikes to even fancier imported cycles. Eventually honing his skills to work successfully on enthusiasts' precious carbon bikes. . .

About 6 months ago, he quit his well paying job at Decathlon to take a leap of faith into entrepreneurship. He started his own cycle service centre in Gurgaon and is busy with a lot of bikes coming his way. Unlike B-school educated post-grads who spend on decor and location, only to be left with nothing for day to day business expenses. Krishna has wisely invested in a basic setup. He has the necessary tools to strip down a bike, space to work, without all the frills and fancies of most modern bike stores. A recipe for success...we hope . .

We wish this technician turned entrepreneur all the very best in his endeavour to cater to the service needs of cyclists in Gurgaon and around. @nankom_doctor_of_cycle . .

#CyclingMonks . . . .
